PARTNERING WITH TEEMILL

Teemill
Teemill supply our clothing range so here's a bit more about them and sustainability...
In our supply chain, we work with manufacturers who share our values. That means designing out waste. When products you've purchased from us become worn out or are no longer your style, you can send them back via the QR code in the care label to be remade into something new instead of sending them to landfill.
Clothes that are donated or sent to recycling banks often still end up in landfill. Our super soft organic cotton never goes to waste. They'll be transformed into recycled yarn like this and woven into new t-shirts and jumpers to give them a new life.
By 2050, it's estimated that there will be more plastic in the sea than fish. Much of this is in microscopic form, shed when washing clothes. Because our products are made from organic cotton, no microplastics are released when you wash them at home. It's one way we can grow a better future with plants, not plastic.

VOLUNTEER

Volunteering
If you know where you’d like to keep watch, navigate to that station’s page on our main website and complete the Expression of Interest form; this will be sent direct to your preferred station.
Training is carried out by experienced watchkeepers both in the lookout station and in classroom settings. An assessment is carried out when you’re ready, to check that all necessary competencies have been learned.
All members of National Coastwatch are expected to carry out regular watches, attend station meetings* and help out at fundraising events**.
The training is designed not only to make you an efficient watchkeeper of value to the community, but also to increase your general knowledge of maritime matters.
*General meetings are held to conduct training or discuss station matters. They also provide members an opportunity to socialise other than on watch.
**As each station is responsible for raising sufficient funds to meet its running costs, fundraising events are an important part of a Watchkeeper’s duties.

SUPPORT OUR WORK
There are many ways to support our work;
Shopping on this platform, provides the charity a small commission on every item sold, plus you are shopping sustainably.
Consider becoming a Volunteer, we have a number of volunteer roles available from training to become a Watchkeeper to supporting with Fundraising activities. Please call into your local station to find out more.
Majority of our stations are now registered on Easyfundraising, this is the UKs biggest charity shopping platform. It partners with over 8,000 brands who will donate part of what you spend to the charity of your choice. It won't cost you any extra. The 'donation' is covered by the brand when you shop with them.
Leaving a legacy to the National Coastwatch Institution ensures a safer future for all who enjoy our beautiful and varied coastline both on land and at sea. If you, a friend, or family member uses the coastal waters or the shoreline – maybe canoeing, fishing, boating; or even walking along our coastline – we are watching and keeping you safe.
Plan a fundraising event to support your local station, whether that be a coffee morning to running a marathon. Challenge yourself for your local station by considering a swimathon or cycling challenge or walking along the many coastal paths to raise money.
Consider becoming a sponsor, without our sponsors support we would not be able to maintain the professional standards we are proud to achieve.
OUR SPONSORS
We would like to thank our Sponsors without whom we would be unable to maintain the professional standards we are proud to have achieved.
Their constant support, both financial and practical is essential to our Charity, and we are proud to acknowledge all of them.
